39+27

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter 3:5

39 plus 27 equals 66 which is the number of books in the Holy Bible. 39 in the Old testament and 27 in the New Testament. Many try as a goal to read through the entire Bible which is admirable. I have never done that. Might I challenge you to insure you are retaining what you read and many do not when they zip through with a challenge of reading the entire 66 books. Now I am not faulting you but may I challenge you instead to read for subjects and study. Get a notebook and take notes. Look up verses.

Once you are studying God's word you will be able to eventually recall scriptures to help out in certain situations. You study and mediate on the word and it gets  down inside your heart and changes you . The verse above sort of has a warning with it.  When you know the Bible do not start acting better than people or haughty but be gentle, humble, and respectful.

Today and every day choose a chapter perhaps out of the Bible and study it. Write down key points. Look up other references to go along with it. Don't be afraid to write in your Bible either as it is your study tool. You will be surprised how this journey will transform you if you are serious about it.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I am so very thankful to live in The United States of America where at this time we can still freely read out Bibles in public and have Bible study without going to jail. I pray this freedom is given to other countries and our freedom here is protected. Help change hearts of  evil people who would try to take away our Christian liberties and help change their hearts from evil to good and darkness to light. In Jesus' name. Amen.
